1 person dead after a two-vehicle accident on Muller Road near S Edison Road (Bakersfield, CA)

On Tuesday afternoon, one person was killed following a two-vehicle collision on Muller Road.

As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place at about 1:00 p.m. on Muller Road near S. Edison Road. The preliminary investigation indicated that a westbound Ford Escape pulled over at a stop sign before entering the intersection.

Shortly after, a southbound heavy-duty tow truck was unable to stop and crashed into the right passenger side of the Ford. The man suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The deceased, who was a back seat passenger of the Ford, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

Medics rushed the female driver of the Ford to a hospital with major injuries. The tow-truck driver, 26-year-old Jamie Gallegos, remained unharmed. Officials believe that drugs and alcohol were not involved in the accident. No other information was provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
