On Tuesday, one person died following a two-vehicle collision on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Santa Clarita.
Officers actively responded to the northbound Golden State Freeway, just south of Calgrove Boulevard at around 6 p.m. after getting reports of a car crash. The early reports showed that an SUV and a semi-truck were involved in the wreck. On arrival, medics transported an occupant of the SUV to a hospital, but they later succumbed to their injuries.
No other injuries were reported as a result of the accident. The first, second and third lanes of the northbound Golden State Freeway were shut down for an unknown amount of time as crews worked at the scene. No other details are made available.
An investigation is ongoing.
