1 person dead after a traffic collision in Los Angeles (Los Angeles, CA)

One person was killed after a crash early Tuesday morning in the Elysian Park neighborhood of Central Los Angeles.

As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the area on the 110 Freeway southbound near Stadium Way at about 1:20 a.m. on reports of a traffic collision. One person was pinned inside a vehicle when crews arrived at the scene. Emergency responders utilized the Jaws of Life to try and extricate the victim.

The victim was declared dead at the scene. All the lanes of the freeway were shut down, with traffic exiting at Stadium Way. No timeline was given about the reopening of the freeway. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear. No other information is available.

An investigation is underway.
