1 person dead after a motorcycle crash in Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa, CA)

On Sunday afternoon, a man lost his life after his motorcycle hit a pole in Santa Rosa.

As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash took place at around 12:06 p.m. on Bicentennial Way and Mendocino Avenue. The preliminary investigation indicated that a motorcycle driven by a man in his mid-50s slammed into a pole for undetermined reasons.

On arrival, medical personnel rushed the motorcycle rider to a nearby hospital where he later died of his injuries. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. Officials stated that alcohol was not involved in the accident.

Authorities suspect that dozens of motorcyclists were in the area heading northbound on Mendocino Avenue and turned eastbound on Bicentennial Way. First responders located the motorcyclist in his 90s Harley Davidson motorcycle approximately 200 yards east of Mendocino Avenue. No other details are available.

The crash remains under review.
