On Thursday morning, one person was killed following a traffic collision in Riverside.
As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash was reported shortly after 4:45 a.m. along the eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway near Magnolia Avenue. According to the officials, the motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. At this time, it is unknown whether the motorcyclist struck something in the road and lost control of the bike or if any other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Just around 15 minutes after arriving on scene, officers announced a Sig alert for all lanes of the EB 91, rerouting the traffic off the freeway at Pierce Street. Drivers were asked to avoid the area and expect delays. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
