1 person dead after a motorcycle crash in Chandler (Chandler, AZ)

One person was killed following a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon in Chandler.

As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash took place a little before 4 p.m. near Chandler Boulevard and Price Road. The preliminary reports showed that an officer attempted to pull over the motorcycle rider but the rider fled away from them.

After that, the motorcyclist started travelling in the bicycle lane. The rider failed to stop at a red light and slammed into a car in the intersection. The victim suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials.

According to the officials, it is unclear why the motorcyclist did not stop. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
