1 person dead after a hit-and-run crash in Houston (Houston, TX)

On Saturday, a pedestrian was killed after getting struck by a vehicle in Houston.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of FM 1960 at 8:30 p.m. after getting reports of a hit-and-run crash. On arrival, responders found a dead person lying in the road. The early reports showed that the victim was attempting to cross an unprotected dark area when a driver hit them.

Officers are looking at surveillance footage to find out the driver that left the scene after the collision. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are immediately available.

The incident remains under active review.
