1 Person Dead After A Fiery Motor Vehicle Crash In Sandy Springs (Atlanta, GA)

Sandy Springs Police Department responded to a fiery motor vehicle crash that claimed a life. The crash happened on Interstate 285 westbound at Riverside Drive in Sandy Springs. 

The person who died in the crash is yet to be identified by the police. 

According to the police, a tractor-trailer rear-ended another tractor-trailer hauling scrap metal and magnesium. During the impact, the fuel on the tractor-trailer exploded, killing the driver due to the explosion.

The cleanup will take longer hours than expected due to the intensity of the fire and the scrap metal, said the police.

Additional information regarding the crash is currently unavailable. An investigation into the crash is under review.
