California Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash that killed a person and left two others injured on Highway 99 in Truckee Friday Afternoon.
Four vehicles were involved in the crash.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred when a box truck sideswiped two cars and hit the third.
The victim who died in the crash was identified as a 37-year-old Olympic Valley resident. His white Subaru was struck by the truck head-on.
Along with the truck driver, a 42-year-old Truckee resident and a passenger in the vehicle were sideswiped.
Both were taken to the Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee with minor injuries.
