1 person airlifted after a semi-truck crash in southeast Travis County (Travis County, TX)

One person suffered serious injuries following a fiery crash involving an 18-wheeler in southeast Travis County.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle wreck was reported at about 6:20 p.m. in the 8200 block of State Highway 130 near FM 812. STAR Flight was requested at the scene for assistance due to the lengthy extrication to free the victim who was trapped inside the vehicle. The truck fire was extinguished, but it spread to grass in the area, officials said.

At approximately 7:45 p.m., authorities stated that the person was removed from the vehicle and was airlifted to Dell Seaton Medical Center with potentially serious injuries. Motorists were asked to expect delays, slowdowns and closures in the area. No other details are made available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
