1 person airlifted after a crash on Santa Fe Avenue and Ranchero Road (Hesperia, CA)

1 person received critical injuries after a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning in Hesperia.

As per the initial information, the head-on crash took place at about 9:43 a.m. on Santa Fe Avenue and Ranchero Road. The early reports showed that a 2020 Ford Transit Connect and a 2006 Toyota Sienna were involved in the collision. San Bernardino County Firefighters actively responded to the scene and, on arrival, found one patient with critical injuries, but no extrication was required.

Responders took the patient via ambulance to the nearby Hesperia Airport helipad. Then, Mercy Air 22 airlifted the injured driver to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The other driver did not want to be taken to the hospital. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
