According to the California Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run accident occurred in Oakland on Monday.
The crash happened on Hegenberger Road at Hamilton Street at around 9:50 p.m.
According to the police, the driver of the unknown vehicle traveling south on Hegenberger hit the woman and fled the scene.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene following the pedestrian crash.
The identity of the suspect was not revealed by the California Highway Patrol.
The officials are investigating whether drugs, alcohol, distracted driving, or speed played a factor in the crash.
