According to the Monterey Park Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Saturday in Monterey Park. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the hit-and-run accident.
Authorities stated that the pedestrian collision occurred in the middle of Atlantic Boulevard, near the 60 Freeway overpass. A pedestrian was struck by a moving vehicle in the area.
The vehicle fled from the location of the wreck. The pedestrian, who was unresponsive, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Other insights including the gender or identity of the pedestrian remain unknown. The crash continues to be investigated by the MPPD.
