The California Highway Patrol reported a pedestrian accident across Highway 99 at Cecil Avenue.
The fatal crash occurred when J.Wenger,40, was overspeeding his Audi in the lane and struck I.Lopez,20, travelling in the second lane at the rate of 75 miles per hour, said CHP. A male pedestrian rushed in a southwesterly direction in front of the Audi for unknown reasons. Wenger tried to pull back and avoid the pedestrian but hit him with the side mirror.
The pedestrian fell into the other lane and was hit by Lopez and killed in the fatal crash. Both the drivers were uninjured.
Northbound lanes of State Route 99 were shut down following the crash.
The crash investigation is ongoing.
No signs of Impairment.
