Authorities responded to a pedestrian crash that injured a man. The crash happened on Wednesday afternoon near the University of New Mexico campus.
According to Albuquerque police spokeswoman Rebecca Atkins, the man was taken to the hospital following the crash. The extent of the injuries was not provided by the authorities.
The unidentified man was struck by an Albuquerque Rapid Transit bus.
The man stepped in front of the bus as it was heading east on Central in the ART lane.
Atkins indicated that the bus hit the man at a speed of 20 mph. There is no crosswalk where the pedestrian was crossing.
Speed or alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
Further details relating to the crash were not provided by the officials. The crash remains under investigation.
