Austin Police reports that a driver has been arrested under suspicion of driving while intoxicated early Friday morning. The driver hit and killed a man on North Lamar Boulevard in North Austin.
The fatal pedestrian incident took place at around 11:40 PM in the northbound lane of Lamar. This was just south of the intersection with Morrow Street.
APD reported the driver called in the crash and remained at the scene. She is now under investigation for the role her alleged intoxication played. Police are also investigating why the man was in the middle of the road.
No other details have been made available at this time.
