The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash in Sacramento County’s Vineyard Area on early Tuesday morning.
The officials stated that the incident occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. when a 2021 Honda was travelling at a high rate of speed near Grant Line Road, Sheldon Lank Drive and Sunrise Boulevard.
According to the CHP South Sacramento Office, the driver and passenger of the Honda crashed into a drainage ditch and a car parked in a residential driveway.
The investigating officers reported that the driver was a 21-year-old man from Elk Grove. He died in the fatal crash.
The passenger, a woman, 21 years old, was seriously injured.
According to the CHP, a high rate of speed and alcohol are believed to be the factors involved in the crash.
The identities of the victims are awaited from the CHP officials.
