1 Injured In A Motor Vehicle Crash Following A Pursuit In Livingston Parish (Livingston Parish, LA)

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a man following a pursuit that resulted in a crash on Interstate 12 westbound in Livingston Parish. Traffic was backed up for 7 miles following the motor vehicle crash.

The suspect Steven McCarthy had warrants for possession of a firearm, obstruction of justice, and possession with intent to distribute a schedule 1 drug. 

McCarthy fled the scene and struck another vehicle on Interstate 12. McCarthy remained uninjured from the crash. 

The other driver sustained minor injuries from the crash.

McCarthy was taken into custody and was booked for several charges. 

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
