Albuquerque police responded to a car crash that claimed a woman’s life. The crash happened at the intersection of Menaul and Carlisle at 3:45 a.m.
Witnesses reported to the police that a Honda Civic driver heading south ran a red light and crashed into the Subaru Forester that was west on Menaul.
Both the drivers were transported to the hospital with severe injuries and a woman in the Forester died at the scene.
According to Albuquerque spokesperson Rebecca Atkins, speed was the factor involved in the crash. It is unknown if alcohol was also a factor.
A handgun was found inside the Subaru Forester, and the car was reported stolen, Atkins said.
