Flint Township Police responded to a fatal crash that claimed a life and severely injured another. The crash happened on southbound I-75 at Corunna road at 4:45 p.m.
The 24-year-old victim was identified as Katarena Nichole Wheat, who died in the crash.
According to the police, Wheat was traveling southbound on I-75 in her Chevrolet Impala when she lost control of her vehicle near the exit ramp.
The Impala rolled over several times, ejecting Wheat from the vehicle.
The 22-year-old passenger sustained severe injuries from the crash. She was taken to the local hospital and is reported to be stable.
Speed and lack of seatbelt usage are suspected to be a factor in the crash. The crash is under investigation.
