On Monday night, one person died while another suffered injuries following a traffic collision in Renton.
As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle accident was reported at 9:23 p.m. in the 1200 block of Benson Road South. The early reports revealed that one of the drivers was pinned inside the car as a result of the collision. It was later confirmed that one of the drivers died in the accident.
On arrival, medics transported the driver of the other vehicle to a local hospital in serious condition. Both the victims were the sole occupants of their cars. Benson Road South from South Puget Drive up to Renton City Hall was shut down for several hours as crews worked at the scene.
An investigation is continuing.
