1 dead, another injured after a two-vehicle accident in southeast Houston (Houston, TX)

One person died and another received injuries following a traffic collision Sunday in southeast Houston.

As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle accident took place on Hughes Road. The early reports showed that the victim was driving at a high rate of speed just after 1 a.m. when they collided with another vehicle leaving a stop sign in the 10700 block of Hughes Road.

The first driver succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was stabilized at a local hospital. The identities of both the victims have not been revealed at this time. No other details were provided.

The crash remains under review.
