According to the Michigan State Police Paw Paw Post, a motorcycle crash took place on Friday.
The investigation team stated that 27-year-old Darek Jamal Bullock-Miles was thrown from his motorcycle along with the 24-year-old female passenger after a Ford panel van crashed head-on on 90th Avenue near 67th Street in Van Buren County’s Keeler Township.
The driver of the van was identified as Renato Florez, 44, and is arrested and held at the Van Buren County Jail. He was found intoxicated at the scene and open intoxicants were found in his vehicle.
Bullock-Miles died in the fatal crash. The female passenger was airlifted to Bronson Kalamazoo Hospital in critical condition.
The incident is being inspected by the Michigan State Police.
